Working with our public sector partners towards informed compliance

Bespoke Training

One of the great strengths of P-PACT is the availability of experts across the spectrum of Information Governance and from the private sector who design and deliver training for public sector clients based on their own applied knowledge and experience.

Christine Gifford and her associates are able to focus on the specific training needs of individual organisations, whether designing courses to deliver one-to-one coaching and training, introducing and developing workplace skills and confident decision-making, or implementing broad-brush awareness raising, or aiding understanding and management of organisational risk and the implications of cultural change, all of which are essential component parts of modern Information Governance.

Information Risk

Public Partners has developed a comprehensive modular training and assessment package to support the role of the Senior Information Risk Officer in public sector organisations.

On the basis of our considerable experience in the field of information sharing, data standards and security and the assessment of risk we are able to work with organisations to ensure that Information Assets are correctly identified, managed and risk rated, in the process quickly building a team approach instilling confidence, benefiting essential corporate values and supporting best practice.

Module One brings the team together, develops ownership - identifies the issues, produces a bespoke action plan and puts in place a timeframe for rapid achievement of stated objectives.

Module Two examines output, produces solutions for difficult and sensitive areas and drafts a template report for the Management Board.

Modules One and Two are normally arranged over a 6 week period and expert members of the consultancy team are constantly available to support work being undertaken in the interim period.

Costs

This bespoke training is customised for each participating organisation and costs will be set on an individual basis.

Records and Information Management - An Introduction to Audit

Preparation for this event would include an overview of the process to be adopted by the organisation concerned; advice on the content of an audit questionnaire; design of appropriate training module(s); delivery of module(s) where appropriate in conjunction with colleagues from the organisation concerned.

Writing for Disclosure

This course is normally customised to meet your organisation's needs. This course addresses the issues of risk, identifies processes where change has to be taken on board and then provides the corporate tools necessary to facilitate effective compliance.

Specific skill training can also be offered by experienced practitioners in the important areas of minute- and report-writing to ease corporate compliance.

Dealing with the Press

An opportunity to hold a customised masterclass involving a leading member of the National Press and led by a senior associate of P-PACT. This masterclass brings together the apparently conflicting interests of FOI practitioners and decision-makers with colleagues who deal with press and other media enquiries. Seemingly competing concerns are addressed alongside tools designed to resolve conflict.

Board and Executive Management Team Briefings.

Almost three years on from final implementation, many public sector bodies are only now beginning to understand the corporate risk inherent across the spectrum of Information Governance. Briefings can take an hour or a day - but are always designed on the basis of an assessment of where you are and what the issues are for your organisation from our expert view.

Induction and Personal Coaching

With ever-changing staff, one of the main challenges for many organisations is to ensure that basic levels of knowledge are maintained so that legislation is understood and compliance achieved.

If you would prefer one-to-one learning rather than attendance at our regular FOI Induction Days this can easily be arranged - and subsequent support mechanisms put in place.

Personal or small-group training can also be arranged on a subject basis - for example 'Understanding the Exemptions and the Public Interest Test' - the 'Environmental Information Regulations' - or 'Dealing with Requests under the Data Protection Act'. In preparation for these events we are happy to undertake a compliance assessment of your organisation and conduct a training needs analysis if appropriate - all of which comes within the training cost.

Implementing Structural Corporate Change

Designed to identify and confront issues which will affect the successful implementation of involuntary corporate change, these events are designed to involve the most senior personnel.

The need might have arisen because of internal re-organisation or with the amalgamation of two or more corporate bodies, often with disparate values and objectives. These challenging workshops are positive and stretching but lead to the development of common aspirations and the establishment of commitment to successful implementation and integration.
